Katrina Czar

yeah, we need one. should be powell not giuliani (tip of the hat though). (a) powell immediately connects with honore (shared experience, language), (b) powell no longer military, (c) powell gets chance for personal redemption (& what is NOLA but a call for national redemption?). giuliani, otoh, showed exemplary leadership skill during/after 911 — which may not be "repeatable". what's needed is a leader capable of parachuting anywhere capable of building structure & command instantly & effectively. powell's military background plus private citizenship allows him to connect with a "blended army" of military, volunteers, other private citizens, etc, across state lines (one true challenge: being able to connect, be real, acknowledge 25-year old shaven head marines AND the chubby blonde volunteer who's a cracker-jack organizer :: each working 28-hours a day needing a leader to connect to who knows what being on the front line means).

real question is transfer of leadership/power from president to czar. keep in mind that this is a full-blown domestic catastrophe at a level never seen before. how that's set up travels down the chain of command, i think.

Vedem (In the Lead) was a magazine created by a bunch of teenagers at the Terezín concentration camp during WWII. a book review on Uncle Tom's Cabin (quoting description from wikipedia) compares the fate of African American slaves with that of the Jews in Terezín, noting that until the deportations began, African-Americans had it worse because their families were torn apart: now that there are deportations, the two groups are suffering about the same. the editor-in-chief of this fine magazine was young Petr Ginz whose sketch of the Earth seen from the moon was taken on STS-107 Columbia by astronaut Ilan Ramon.

slavery & repression are deeply embedded in the ground of america. imho, it's not that we hate or fear one another, we may just not know how to transform ourselves into a non-slave nation. just remember: this nation was built on the backs & mixed with the tears of black slaves. what could this people do if given a chance to rebuild this nation from love? i see a vision of New Orleans rebuilt as a Green City with great food, music & people. i also see a school named after Petr Ginz. see you at the opening ceremonies.

X17 Solar Flare @ 07-Sept

Massive Solar Flare Disrupts Communications via technoccult

X17 solar flare on 07-Sept fourth largest since 1976.

Sunspot 798 first appeared around 15-August during the Perseid Meteor shower. Sunspot 798 @ 15-Aug // Sunspot 808 (returning 798) - NOAA. Sunspot 808 @ Solarsoft.

AQ 211 = SUNSPOT 798 = REVELATION (Asteroid #798 RUTH)
AQ 203 = SUNSPOT 808 = APOCALYPSE (Asteroid #808 MERXIA)

Asteroid #808 MERXIA discovered 11-Oct-1901 by Italian astronomer Luigi Carnera; named after Adalbert Merx, the discoverer's father; also discovered asteroid #469 ARGENTINA 20-Feb-1901. MERXIA prototype for Merxia Asteroid Family consisting of 25-30 members.

PRESTO FROM SIDC - RWC BELGIUM Fri Sep 9 2005, 2137 UT + Catania sunspot group 37 (NOAA 0808) was the seat of another major flare. It caused an X6.2 long-duration flare, peaking at 20:02 UT, which is currently still in the decay phase. The >10MeV and >50 MeV proton fluxes remain above the event threshold, while the > 100MeV proton flux has increased to just below the threshold, and it expected to exceed it in the coming hours. Geomagnetic conditions are currently at the unsettled level following the arrival of the shock in the solar wind earlier today. SIDC Daily Bulletins for September.

20-Aug to 09-Sep taken from

20-Aug :: SUNSPOT 798: What a difference a day makes. On August 19th, sunspot 798 was barely visible. Today, August 20th, it is five times wider than the entire planet Earth ... When sunspots develop at breakneck speed, their magnetic fields can become unstable and explode. Sunspot 798 now poses a threat for M-class solar flares.

23-Aug :: AURORA ALERT: Sunspot 798 exploded twice yesterday, August 22nd, and hurled a pair of coronal mass ejections (CMEs: #1, #2) toward Earth. Geomagnetic storms are possible when the clouds arrive on August 23rd and 24th. Sky watchers, particularly those in Alaska and Canada, should be alert for auroras.

24-Aug :: AURORA ALERT: As predicted, a pair of coronal mass ejections (CMEs ) hit Earth's magnetic field this morning, setting off a strong geomagnetic storm--now subsiding. ON EDGE: Sunspot 798 is approaching the sun's western limb, and that's a good place to see the magnetic field of a sunspot.

25-Aug :: AURORA STORM: It's over. A geomagnetic storm that began on August 24th when a coronal mass ejection hit Earth has subsided. During the storm, sky watchers saw bright auroras in Colorado, Utah, Wisconsin, New York and other US states.

27-Aug :: AURORA STORM: Two coronal mass ejections hit Earth's magnetic field on August 24th, sparking a severe geomagnetic storm. Auroras appeared over many US states--e.g., Colorado and Utah--and even "down under" in Australia!

28-Aug :: SOLAR FLARE: Sunspot 803 unleashed an M1-class solar flare this morning ... Because the blast (probably) did not propel a coronal mass ejection toward Earth, there will be no repeat of last week's spectacular aurora storm. AURORA STORM: Two coronal mass ejections hit Earth's magnetic field on August 24th, sparking a severe geomagnetic storm. Bright auroras appeared over Canada and many US states. The display was especially good in New Zealand and Australia, where sky watchers saw a rare display of Southern Lights.

29-Aug :: MOSTLY QUIET: The sun is peppered with 'spots today, but they are all small; not one poses a threat for very strong flares. Solar activity should be mostly low in the days ahead with no quick repeat of last week's spectacular aurora storm.

01-Sep :: FARSIDE BLAST: On the other side of the sun, the side we can't see from Earth, something exploded yesterday, hurling a bright coronal mass ejection over the sun's limb and out into space: movie. The cloud is heading toward, not Earth, but Saturn. Auroras on the ringed planet are possible in two weeks or so when the CME arrives. SUNSET PLANETS: Venus and Jupiter are converging at the noticeable rate of 1o per day, with closest approach coming on September 1st when the two will be a little more than 1° apart. When planets are so close together, not only do you notice them, you'll have a hard time taking your eyes off them. They're spellbinding.There's a biological reason for this phenomenon: In the back of your eye, near the center of the retina, lies a small patch of tissue called "the fovea" where cones are extra-densely packed. "Whatever you see with the fovea, you see in high-definition," explains Stuart Hiroyasu, O.D., of Bishop, California. "The fovea is critical to reading, driving, watching television; it has the brain's attention." The field of view of the fovea is 5°. When two objects converge to, say, 1° as Venus and Jupiter will do, they can beam into your fovea simultaneously, signaling your brain—attention, please! After September 1st, the two planets separate, but the show's not over. On September 6th, with Jupiter and Venus still pleasingly close together, the slender crescent Moon will leap up from the sun's glare and join the two planets. Together, they'll form a compact triangle that will simply knock your socks off.

02-Sep :: WEAK IMPACT: A coronal mass ejection swept past Earth this morning, but its weak impact did not spark widespread geomagnetic activity. Auroras are unlikely tonight. FARSIDE OF THE SUN: Recent maps of the sun's farside reveal a big sunspot ... Two days ago this active region exploded, hurling a coronal mass ejection (movie) toward, not Earth, but Saturn. Auroras on the ringed planet are possible when the CME gets there in two weeks or so. Because the sun spins on its axis, this 'spot will turn to face Earth on or about Sept. 7th. Stay tuned.

03-Sep :: AURORA WATCH: A high-speed solar wind stream is buffeting Earth's magnetic field, and this could cause a mild geomagnetic storm. Sky waychers in Alaska, Canada and Scandinavia should be alert for auroras.

04-Sep :: AURORA WATCH: For the third day in a row, a high-speed solar wind stream is buffeting Earth's magnetic field. Sky watchers in Alaska, Canada and northern Europe should remain alert for auroras.

05-Sep ::AURORA WATCH: A solar wind stream that has buffeted Earth's magnetic field for several days is subsiding. The chances of a geomagnetic storm are subsiding with it. Bright auroras are unlikely tonight.

06-Sep :: SOLAR OUTLOOK: There's an active region hiding just behind the sun's eastern limb. It's probably sunspot 798, which sparked strong auroras in August and, just yesterday, hurled a new coronal mass ejection into space: movie. The latest explosion was not Earth-directed, but future explosions could be as the sunspot turns to face Earth later this week.

07-Sep :: SOLAR FLARE: At 1740 UT on Sept. 7th, Earth-orbiting satellites detected a major solar flare, X13-class or stronger, coming from the sun's eastern limb. The source of the explosion was probably returning sunspot 798, which sparked strong auroras in August. Today's blast was not Earth-directed, but explosions later this week (and next week) could be as the active region turns more and more toward our planet. September might be a good month for auroras; stay tuned.

08-Sep :: SOLAR FLARE: On Sept. 7th at 1740 UT (1:40 p.m. EDT), Earth-orbiting satellites detected a major X17-class solar flare coming from the sun's eastern limb: image. The blast caused a complete blackout of HF radio transmissions on the daylit side of Earth. The source of the flare was returning sunspot 798 (see below), which sparked strong auroras in late August. Two weeks of quiet followed those storms while the sunspot transited the farside of the sun--but now it's back, and it's turning toward our planet again. Explosions later this week and next could produce more radio blackouts and some lovely September auroras. LISTEN--RADIO BURSTS! In New Mexico, amateur astronomer Thomas Ashcraft recorded strong radio bursts during the flare: audio file. These slowly undulating signals, known as Type II radio bursts, are emitted by shocked gas at the leading edge of a coronal mass ejection (CME) racing away from the blast site. Use stereo headphones for best effect; the file plays 22.2 MHz in one ear, and 22.7 MHz in the other. [more]. MAGNETIC ARCHES: Sunspot 798, the source of yesterday's flare, has an impressive magnetic field. You can see it in this Sept. 7th picture from Jack Newton of Osoyoos, British Columbia: {image} The arches are magnetic force fields emerging from the sunspot below; they're filled with hot-glowing gas held together by magnetism. When these kinds of magnetic fields become unstable, they can collapse and explode--a solar flare! Forecasters estimate a 30% of another X-flare from sunspot 798 during the next 24 hours.

09-Sep :: AURORA ALERT: Coronal mass ejections (CMEs) hurled into space by the solar explosions of Sept. 7th-9th could strike glancing blows to Earth's magnetic field during the next 48-to-72 hours. Sky watchers in Canada, Alaska and other northern places should be alert for auroras. ACTIVE SUN: Solar activity is very high. Earth-orbiting satelites have detected five X-class solar flares this week, including one X17 monster. NOAA forecasters say there's a 50% chance of more X-flares during the next 24 hours, possibly causing radio blackouts and radiation storms. The source of all this activity is giant sunspot 798, shown above in a composite image of the sun from Stephen Seip of Stuttgart, Germany. So far, except for brief radio blackouts, the flares from sunspot 798 have had little effect on Earth. The explosions have not been squarely Earth-directed because the 'spot is near the sun's eastern limb. This will change: In the days ahead, the sun's rotation will turn sunspot 798 increasingly toward our planet. The last time sunspot 798 was facing Earth, in late August, it sparked strong auroras seen as far south as Utah and Colorado. We might get more such displays next week if sunspot 798 remains active. RADIATION STORM: An S2-class radiation storm is underway. In other words, solar protons are streaming past Earth. These particles were accelerated to nearly light speed by the recent explosions at sunspot 798. The storm does not reach down to Earth's surface; it mainly affects satellites and spacecraft. You can see one effect of the storm in this coronagraph image from the SOHO spacecraft: The white speckles are caused by protons striking the craft's digital camera {image} One place you wouldn't want to be during this storm: walking around on the Moon!

Gerizim :: A mountain of Samaria, about 3,000 feet above the Mediterranean. It was on the left of the valley containing the ancient town of Shechem (q.v.), on the way to Jerusalem. It stood over against Mount Ebal, the summits of these mountains being distant from each other about 2 miles # De 27:1ff. # Jos 8:30-35 On the slopes of this mountain the tribes descended from the handmaids of Leah and Rachel, together with the tribe of Reuben, were gathered together, and gave the responses to the blessing pronounced as the reward of obedience, when Joshua in the valley below read the whole law in the hearing of all the people; as those gathered on Ebal responded with a loud Amen to the rehearsal of the curses pronounced on the disobedient. It was probably at this time that the coffin containing the embalmed body of Joseph was laid in the "parcel of ground which Jacob bought of the sons of Hamor" # Ge 33:19 50:25 Josephus relates (Ant. 11:8, 2) that Sanballat built a temple for the Samaritans on this mountain, and instituted a priesthood, as rivals to those of the Jews at Jerusalem. This temple was destroyed after it had stood two hundred years. It was afterwards rebuilt by Herod the Great. There is a Samaritan tradition that it was the scene of the incident recorded in # Ge 22:1ff. There are many ruins on this mountain, some of which are evidently of Christian buildings. To this mountain the woman of Sychar referred in # Joh 4:20 For centuries Gerizim was the centre of political outbreaks. The Samaritans (q.v.), a small but united body, still linger here, and keep up their ancient ceremonial worship. {Easton's Bible Dictionary}

Ebal :: (Stony) 1. A mountain 3,076 feet above the level of the sea, and 1,200 feet above the level of the valley, on the north side of which stood the city of Shechem (q.v.). On this mountain six of the tribes # De 27:12,13 were appointed to take their stand and respond according to a prescribed form to the imprecations uttered in the valley, where the law was read by the Levites # De 11:29 29:4,13 This mountain was also the site of the first great altar erected to Jehovah # De 27:5-8 Jos 8:30-35 After this the name of Ebal does not again occur in Jewish history. {Easton's Bible Dictionary}

John Gill's Expositor Deuteronomy 11:29. And it shall come to pass, when the Lord thy God hath bought thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, &c.] Which is often observed, as being near at hand; and when and where many things were to be done, which could not be done in the place and circumstances they now were, particularly what follows: that thou shall put the blessing on Mount Gerizim, and the curse upon Mount Ebal; that is, pronounce the one on one mountain, and the other on the other mountain, or at least towards them, or over against them. The Targum of Jonathan is “ye shall set six tribes on Mount Gerizim, and six tribes on Mount Ebal; (#De 27:12,13) blessing they shall turn their faces against Mount Gerizim, and cursing they shall turn their faces against Mount Ebal;” with which agrees the account given in the Misnah; “six tribes went to the top of Mount Gerizim, and six to the top of Mount Ebal; and the priests and the Levites, and the ark, stood below in the middle; the priests surrounded the ark, and the Levites the priests, and all Israel were on this and on that side of the ark, as in #Jos 8:33 then they turned their faces against Gerizim, they opened with the blessing, blessed is he that maketh not any graven or molten image, and both answered "Amen"; then they turned their faces against Mount Ebal, and opened with the curse, #De 27:15 and both answered Amen;” see the performance of this command in #Jos 8:33,34.

#13 VHB Vaheb of Waheb = "now, come on: and do thou give"; a place in Moab, site unknown; GBCh to be high (of the forehead); forehead-bald.

  • Red Sea 05492 KVPH : whirlwind, storm, tempest; storm-wind; Suphah = "honeycomb: overflow", a place east of the Jordan; from 05486 KVP to cease, come to an end (consume, utterly, have an end, perish).

  • Brooks 05158 NChL : torrent, valley, wadi, torrent-valley; wadi (as stream bed); shaft (of mine); palm-tree; meaning dubious. from 05157 NChL in its original sense; inherit, inheritance; to get as a possession, acquire, inherit, possess; to divide the land for a possession; to be allotted, be made to possess.

  • Arnon 0769 ARNVN : rushing stream; river and surrounding valley in south Palestine, forms the border between Moab and the Amorites; from 07442 RNN sing, rejoice; to overcome; to cry out, shout for joy, give a ringing cry.

Arnon :: Swift, the southern boundary of the territory of Israel beyond Jordan, separating it from the land of Moab # De 3:8,16 This river (referred to twenty-four times in the Bible) rises in the mountains of Gilead, and after a circuitous course of about 80 miles through a deep ravine it falls into the Dead Sea nearly opposite Engedi. The stream is almost dry in summer. It is now called el-Mujeb. The territory of the Amorites extended from the Arnon to the Jabbok. {Easton's Bible Dictionary}

Numbers 21:9 And Moses made a serpent <05175> of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent <05175> had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent <05175> of brass, he lived.

  • 05175 NChSh nachash : serpent, snake; image (of serpent) ; fleeing serpent (mythological); occurs in Genesis 3:1. Genesis 49:17., Exodus 4:3; from 05172 NChSh nachash to practice divination, divine, observe signs, learn by experience, diligently observe, practice fortunetelling, take as an omen; to practice divination; to observe the signs or omens.

  • 05180 NChShThN N@chushtan :Nehushtan = "a thing of brass"; name by which the brazen serpent made by Moses in the wilderness was worshipped in the time of king Hezekiah of Judah before he destroyed it; only occurs in 2 Kings 18:4 He removed the high places, and brake the images, and cut down the groves, and brake in pieces the brasen serpent that Moses had made: for unto those days the children of Israel did burn incense to it: and he called it Nehushtan <05180>; from NChShTh n@chosheth copper, bronze; lust, harlotry; meaning dubious; root 05172 NChSh.

Nehushtan :: Of copper; a brazen thing a name of contempt given to the serpent Moses had made in the wilderness # Nu 21:8 and which Hezekiah (Jehovah is my strength) destroyed because the children of Israel began to regard it as an idol and "burn incense to it." The lapse of nearly one thousand years had invested the "brazen serpent" with a mysterious sanctity; and in order to deliver the people from their infatuation, and impress them with the idea of its worthlessness, Hezekiah called it, in contempt, "Nehushtan," a brazen thing, a mere piece of brass #2Ki 18:4. {Easton's Bible Dictionary}
