Cancer 18 Degrees

The anatomical correspondence for this degree is "into common duct". This came up during the V838 Monocerotis post. The common bile duct carries bile from the liver and gallbladder to the duodenum. The duodenum is the start of the small intestine. In Latin, duodenum is short for "intestinum duodenum digitorum" (intestine of twelve finger-widths) and is from duodecim (twelve). Bile digests and absorbs fats and is also called gall. Two of the four humors are black bile and yellow bile corresponding to earth and fire. In Hebrew, mererah MRRH means bitterness and is used for the bile secreted by the liver and is also used in the bible for "the seat of life". MRRH = 445, The total value of the Single Letters; alternate spelling MRVRH = 451, Essence of Man, Mortis, Angels of Tiphareth, and The Abyss.

The Four Humors are also related to Temperament where an ideal temperament was a balance of the four.
