The Bear that breathes the Northern blast
Did numb, Torpedo-like, a Wasp
Whose stiffened limbs encramped, lay bathing
In Sol's warm breath and shine as saving,
Which with her hands she chafes and stands
Rubbing her Legs, Shanks, Thighs, and hands.
Her pretty toes, and fingers' ends
Nipped with this breath, she out extends
Unto the Sun, in great desire
To warm her digits at that fire.
Doth hold her Temples in this state
Where pulse doth beat, and head doth ache.
Doth turn, and stretch her body small,
Doth comb her velvet Capital.
As if her little brain pan were
A Volume of Choice precepts clear.
As if her satin jacket hot
Contained Apothecary's Shop
Of Nature's receipts, that prevails
To remedy all her sad ails,
As if her velvet helmet high
Did turret rationality.
She fans her wing up to the wind
As if her pettycoat were lined,
With reason's fleece, and hoists sails
And humming flies in thankful gales
Unto her dun Curled palace Hall
Her warm thanks offering for all.

haven't been to work in over two weeks. surprisingly, my sister (who lives up the block) has not been by at all. (totally amazing coz she's such a worry-wart). my niece ran away to apartment tuesday night walking in just as i had figured out this. she's a little fey so i thought her timing was perfect (even picking up the last crystal i'd been working with). my sister came by to check up on her, but stayed in the car as little niece ferried messages. woke up today with Cafferty on CNN talking about racism & class in america ... and G talking about pyrexia.

in the shower when my sister walked in (perfect timing) looking all worried. bottom-line: she left smiling. found the 220 chart the night before driving to her house (living in LA at the time) & showed her the chart & did a tarot reading for her. somehow communicated what was going on the last two weeks & told her about the 827 chart. walking out the door she noticed a wasp on the inside of the screen door, which i flicked away. it landed on the ground & sat there for a moment, then flew away.

we both work in the same city & she told me we're up to thirteen murders since i've been gone. took out my crystal box & had her select a crystal for protection. told her about asteroid Pamela suprised to hear myself say: i kinda cast the asteroids to get an idea of what's going on. tell her the asteroids i used for the family ... so, um, adding family names to the 827 list since big sis kinda frowned because i neglected these.

The Spirituality of Making of Iron Gall Ink :: In the Middle Ages every technical process was linked to a spiritual process. Ink making was no exception. As we follow the spiritual development of an ink make, keeping in mind that what takes place does so not only physically, symbolically and mentally, but also within the soul, on a spiritual level within the ink maker. the final product of the process of ink making is a transformation, a fundamental integration of disparate aspects of the self: the physical, mental and spiritual. Our key to enter into the workings of such profound integration is the symbolism of the ink maker's materials. The basic material of iron gall ink is oak gall, which consists of wasp eggs and an oak tree. A wasp is considered an inverted symbol of the bee. The bee represents the Virgin Mary and goodness; its inversion means evil. The wasp, instead of spreading the word of God symbolically as the bee does by pollinating, just scavenges and lays its eggs. Oak trees, where the eggs are often laid, are the sacred tree of the Druids and as such, a symbol of deep and aged wisdom. The meeting of the two forms the gall. As the oak tree protects itself from the wasp eggs, symbolically it is trying to arrest the spread of evil through fibers of wisdom. So the medieval scribe took this ultimate symbol of good and evil and transformed it eventually into the ultimate good- God's word.

Telepinu(s) the noble god :: An agricultural god, he is the favorite and firstborn son of the Storm-god. He 'harrows and plows. He irrigates the fields and makes the crops grow.' With his departure, fertility of the land, crops and herds disappears and famine besets man and god. Hannahannas's bee finds him, stings his hands and feet, and wipes his eyes and feet with wax, purifying him. This further infuriates him, and he wrecks further havoc with the rivers and by shattering houses and windows. Eventually, the evil and malice is removed through magic by Kamrusepas, but not before Telepinus thunders with lightning. Telepinus returns home, restoring fertility and tending to the life and vitality of the royal family. His prosperity and fertility is symbolized by a pole suspending the fleece of a sheep. In other versions of this myth, the Storm-god or the Sun-god and several other gods are missing instead. He is asked by his father to recover the Sun-god from the Sea-god, and so intimidates the Sea-god that he is given his daughter as a bride.

The Brazen Men :: The Hittites, to name just one of the cultures born out of these times, were not parasites and not one time the king of the Hittites was the only man who dared write to the Pharoah of Egypt as an equal, and Hittites were among the first smelters of iron. They were not backward, merely focused, driven by myths of the loss and recovery of the god Telepinus, a myth which resembles in part the old Greek tale of Demeter's retreat from the world: Telepinus walked away and took grain, breeze...and satiation to the country, the meadow, the steppes. Telepinus went and lost himself in the steppe; fatigue overcame him. So grain and spelt thrive no longer. So cattle, sheep and man no longer breed. And even those with young cannot bring them forth. The vegetation dried up; the trees died and would bring forth no fresh shoots. The pastures dried up, the springs dried up. In the land famine arose so that man and gods perished from hunger. The great Sun-god arranged for a feast and invited the thousand gods. They ate, but they did not satisfy their hunger; they drank, but they did not quench their thirst. This myth is remarkable for a variety of reasons. First, due to its resemblance to the portion of the Epic of Gilgamesh where the gods themselves are almost destroyed due to the near-destruction of mankind and the resulting paucity of offerings. Secondly, the formula the thousand gods puts one in mind of animism, where all things are alive in spirit and the early sources of diverse mythologies such as the Greek idea that every river, tree and mountain had their own god or spirit, the Roman idea of the household gods, the sophisticated pantheon of the Vedic peoples of India. In addition, Telepinus' retreat reminds one of the flight of Demeter from the world following the kidnapping of Persephone by Hades (unfortunately, the actual reason for Telepinus' retreat is lost from the translation) to the part where the Storm-God of the Hittites, much like Zeus of the Greek pantheon, is moved to personally search for him. The similarity of these disparate concepts across even linguistic divides, from ancient Sumerian to Semitic Akkadian to Indo-European Hittite and beyond, indicates a primal transmission of a legacy so potent that it transcends even the powerful ability of language to dilute and dissolve concepts into itself, like the metaphorical salt in water the Upanishads would describe, an invisible and subtle essence.

Final Amputation Pathogenic Ontology in Cyberspace :: Telepresence as Electronically-Mediated Schizophrenia - In its purest sense, telepresence, one of the simplest and most direct of all holosthetic technologies, creates a profound sense of disembodiment, one that in almost any other state of being would be called pathogenic. It is a form of electronically-mediated schizophrenia, where the self, through its various holosthetic extensions, removes itself from itself.

Telepresence Art :: In principle, telepresence and virtual reality coincide only when a person immersed in the synthetic environment of cyberspace can remotely control an actual telerobot in our tangible space and receive feedback from his or her teleactions. In this search for an "operational double," to use Baudrillard's term, humans wearing flexible armatures will, scientists believe, have a quantifiable feeling of "being there."
